Big Screen on the Green

Published: 08/03/2010 by Samantha Canez

I am pretty certain that I am not the only starving student, who is reluctant to pay the $12.00 admission fee to catch a movie these days.  But that doesn’t mean to I have to forfeit the big-screen experience altogether. Luckily, Americana at Brand is hosting their own Movie Night Series every Thursday at 8pm for the whole month of August.

This is not your traditional movie experience, but it is equally, perhaps even more, enjoyable. Bring your own picnic or purchase a picnic dinner package for only $10 from Caffe Primo which includes a Panini, side salad, cookie and drink. Want more options? Gourmet food trucks will be serving food from 6pm to 9pm. Beer and wine will also be made available for purchase so you can wash down a relaxing night of movie-watching fun.

Admission is free; however they do give you an opportunity to accumulate good karma with a donation of $3 to the Make a Wish Foundation. Five percent of the proceeds will also be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation. And with movies like Avatar and the Devil Wears Prada and High School Musical 3, this is a deal you can’t pass up.

August 5th: The Devil Wears Prada

August 12th: Avatar

August 19th: High School Musical 3
